The PTA sponsored Reflections Program is an invitation for Baltimore County students to participate in a national program that celebrates the arts. Students in pre-school through grade 12 in every Baltimore County school are challenged to create art that supports a specific theme.
The theme for 2007-2008 is “I can make a difference by…”.
The Reflections Program, which has been in existence for more than 35 years, offers students the opportunity to create original works of art in six areas: dance choreography, film/videography, literature, musical composition, photography and visual arts.
Four entries at each age division (primary – pre-school through grade 2, secondary – grades 3-5, middle – grades 6-8, and senior – grades 9-12) in each of the six arts areas can be submitted by local PTAs to the PTA Council for county judging. Entries winning county awards of excellence are forwarded to Maryland PTA for state judging, which then will forward 24 entries to National PTA for national judging.
The 2007-2008 Reflections Program packet will be mailed shortly to every PTA President. You may download a copy of the packet at www.mdpta.org/bridge_reflections.html. Download the information today and get started on making Reflections a part of your school’s tradition!
All PTAs participating in the 2007-2008 Reflections Program must register in September by sending an email to reflections@bcptacouncil.org so that your PTA can receive timely notices about the Reflections Program.
