Since 1897, PTA has served as:
  • A powerful voice for all children,

  •  A relevant resource for families and communities, and

  •  A strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.

Today, PTA is the largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the nation. Our members represent the ethnic diversity of our nation, and they come from the ranks of traditional families, single-parent households, blended families, grandparents, and other caring adults. Together, we continue to serve as the conscience of the country for children and youth.

Each PTA/PTSA organizes around local issues to benefit the needs of children within their school and community. PTA Council of Baltimore County, Maryland PTA, and National PTA encourage everyone to become effective advocates for every child.

On January 07, 2010, a motion was adopted by the PTA Council Board of Directors to rename the Legislation/Issues Committee to the Advocacy, Issues and Legislative Committee. This change will better reflect the scope of work addressed by this committee.

For further information, email Lisa Orisich, Chair, Advocacy, Issues and Legislative Committee.

National PTA

The 2010 Census is your community's voice in government.

National PTA as an official 2010 Census Partner has joined government, non-profit, corporate and community organizations in formally pledging their commitment to share the 2010 Census message and mobilize their constituents in support of the Census Bureau's goal of achieving a complete count.    Accurate data reflecting changes in your community are crucial in apportioning seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and deciding how more than $400 billion per year is allocated for projects like new hospitals and schools.
