| STANDING COMMITTEES: MINORITY EDUCATION |
| Plan of Work |
| Goal: To work to ensure that all children receive a quality education as defined by the Maryland State Department of Education Visionary Panel for better schools. |
Objectives to Accomplish Goal:
- Provide resources to strengthen school programs, family knowledge and involvement, and students learning and development
- Work with BCPS Office and Equity and Assurance to determine reasons for and solutions to the achievement gap
- To examine performance data of schools I'm affiliated with to determine how/if performance is assessed in order to determine trends and patterns, i.e. student reading performance over a school year versus independent variables such as experience of teachers, apparent parental support, community support, etc.
- Attempt to assess level of diversity at each of the elementary schools, i.e. student demographics, vs. demographics of faculty and staff, etc.

- Submission of at least two articles for inclusion in the BULLETIN
- Have someone speak on minority achievement at Fall Workshop
- Provide a monthly newsletter
