Board of Education to hold public forum for input on next superintendent

Towson, MD – The Board of Education of Baltimore County (Board) is seeking public input relating to the next permanent superintendent of Baltimore County Public Schools.

The forum will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., at George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, 938 York Road, Towson, Maryland, 21204. Speaker sign up will be from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Each speaker will be allotted up to 3 minutes (depending on the number of speakers) to present their comments. The public forum will end at 8:30 p.m. Stakeholders will also have the opportunity to send comments electronically via the BCPS website<http://www.bcps.org/> beginning Wednesday March 7, 2018.

The Board is interested in hearing from the public as to the desired traits, characteristics, and priorities of the next superintendent who will lead the 25th largest school system in the nation. This forum is not intended to be an opportunity to discuss the current interim superintendent, but, instead, to seek input on the desired qualities of the next permanent superintendent.

The school system is committed to accessible communication with its stakeholders. The forum will be live-streamed and can be viewed on the BCPS website<http://www.bcps.org/>.
