PTA Council Awards

NOTE: Due to diminishing interest, PTA Council will not conduct its award program this year. We hope to revamp the program over the summer. We need a dynamic Committee Chair to fill this vacant position on our board. Please contact us if you’re interested!

Each year, the PTA Council of Baltimore County gives each local PTA/PTSA unit the opportunity to recognize outstanding units, people, and programs/collaborations.

  • Recognition Awards – to give each PTA/PTSA the opportunity to have one of its members, parents, teachers, staff members or volunteers receive countywide recognition for doing a great job.
  • Unit of Excellence Award – honors each PTA/PTSA demonstrating performance beyond the Standards of Affiliation (SoA).
  • “Top Program” Award – to give each PTA/PTSA the opportunity to showcase its programs and collaborations focusing on family engagement or community outreach.
  • Outstanding Educator of the Year – to give each PTA/PTSA the opportunity to obtain countywide recognition for a member of its school’s staff. There will be one primary and one secondary Educator of the Year Award presented for the entire county. (Note: This award is based on performance during the current school year, not a lifetime achievement award.)

Recipients are recognized at the annual awards celebration, A Night of Shining Stars, held during the annual spring/summer leadership training.
